written in this book:19 And if any man shall take away from the words
of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of
life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this
book.”

I wanted to do
a comparison between THE Word made flesh, Jesus Christ, and the Word, the Holy
King James Bible. What does John 1
mean when it calls Jesus the Word? I
believe that it means what it sounds like.
The very Words of God, the communication and revelation, IS Jesus
Christ. Therefore, the Holy Bible IS
Jesus…in a sense.
No, the pages
and letters are not physically Jesus.
But the Word is called a LIVING (quick) Word in Hebrews 4. And Jesus goes on to say in John 6, that the
Words that He speaks are Spirit. His Words
are alive and spirit. And 2nd
Timothy 3 teaches us that ALL of the Bible are His inspired (God-breathed)
Words. So ALL of the Bible is alive and
spirit. WHOSE life? WHOSE Spirit?
That of Jesus Christ! When He
speaks, His Words are actual life. The
life of Himself (without losing any of Himself). And so when it says that the Word became
flesh, the living Words of God (the revelation of Himself in communicable
fashion), became a man. Jesus Christ.
Now onto the
point of my discussion. If the physical
Jesus Christ (the Word made flesh...John 1), is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Heb. 13),
and is unchanging (Malachi 3), AND is pure (without spot or blemish...1st Peter 1), then shouldn’t we
expect His actual Words, to be unchanging, the same yesterday, today and
forever? Shouldn’t we expect them to be
pure? In the King James, we have a pure,
unblemished, unchanging and preserved Word.
ANY other version would HAVE changes, would HAVE impurities, would BE changing,
and therefore would be counterfeit Words.
“Anti” words. Counterfeit
Christs. “Anti” Christs.
Perhaps I go
too far. Some would accuse me of making
an idol out of the Bible. Of
“worshiping the word.” But, it’s not
the book itself or the pages. It’s the
pure, spiritual, LIFE giving Words in the book.
They are the living and breathing representation of Jesus Christ
(although seen dimly...1st Cor. 13). His ACTUAL
GOD-BREATHED WORDS! With the spirit of
Christ in them!
I have heard
some say, “Well, where was the Bible before the King James?” Where was Jesus before He came? He existed.
And men worshiped Him with the knowledge that they had. His Spirit guided them into truth. And when He came, they recognized Him. So it is with the Bible. It existed before the King James. And men worshiped with the knowledge that
they had of It. The Spirit guided them
into truth. And when IT came, they
recognized it.
Some would
say, “What about other languages?” COME
ON! You’re not thinking straight. There is nothing wrong with translating the
Word into other languages. As long as
you don’t take liberties and change it.
As long as you don’t add or take away.
After all, what did Jesus do at the day of Pentecost when men from all
sorts of different languages were present?
He spoke (through Peter) in ALL their languages! He has no problem translating or speaking in
other tongues.
Am I a
heretic? I don’t know. But I love His Word. It is life giving, powerful, necessary, and
transforming. And when people attack it
(even unknowingly through “versions” and other changes), I am offended. The same way I would be if you changed the
character of Jesus Christ when you described Him to someone else. Present Him as He is. Give His Word as it is.
Anyways, I’m
just thinking this out as I write. It’s
been on my heart, but I’ve never really systematically thought it out. I guess essentially what I am saying is this: While the Book and pages and letters are not in actuality Jesus Christ, they are His Words. And as such, His life and Spirit are IN and through the Words. That being the case, they carry His essence and character. And the same way that He is immutable, THEY are immutable. And to change them, corrupt them, "simplify" them, or in any other way to alter them, is rebellion and disobedience and an attack on His character and being.
